About
The Physical World recording studio is available to selected musicians whose focus is on acoustic music. Otherwise, its purpose is to provide a musical home for Delta X. The studio has two major components: Live recording and creation from samples and synthesizers. The two aspects are often combined.

The Studio
The Physical World maintains a multi-function recording studio. Having been involved in analog tape recording since the 1950s, we maintain Ampex, Studer, Otari and other two track recorders in quarter-track and half-track format, as well as Otari and Tascam 8-track recorders on ½ inch tape. We prefer to record to digital tape (rather than hard disk), and can do so 24 tracks at a time. We edit in professional Pro Tools (on a Macintosh computer), as many tracks as are necessary. We master on a PC, usually in Sound Forge, with many third party plug-ins available.
Finally, we have a collection of samplers and synthesizers, for which we write in Studio Vision (an old but excellent program). Thus we take music from live or written source, performed by people playing instruments or computers driving acoustic, sampled or synthesized sounds.
We maintain a comfortable environment in which musicians can discuss

The Physical studio is available only to those whose music I like. You can inquire about availability and rates by email.
